As many of you may be aware, all non profit Societies are required to update their Constitution and submit both their Constitution and By Laws as a requirement to transition to the new Society’s Act of BC. The Societies Act governs how societies (not-for-profit corporations) are created and run in B.C. The Act includes significant updates to allow for more flexibility in how societies operate, while still protecting the public interest.
Hampton Board of Directors has updated our Constitution and By Laws to ensure they are in compliance with the new Societies Act. The next step is to have the Constitution and By Laws approved by the membership of Hampton Little League. So all members are invited to attend a Special Meeting on November 6, 2018 at 6:30 PM at the Hampton Club House in order to ask questions, have discussion and participate in a vote. Once the Constitution and By Laws are approved we can then proceed with the transition to the new Socities Act.
